Ghulam Ali

Ghulam Ali is a renowned Pakistani ghazal singer and was born in 1940 in the Patiala Gharana in the the Sialkot district of Punjab. He has a musical family background. Ali's father was a vocalist. He got his early training from him. He became a disciple of Bade Ghulam Ali Khan at the age of 15.

Ghulam Ali got his first break as a singer in 1960 for Radio Lahore. Apart form being a singer he composes his ghazals as well. Most of his compositions are based on raags. He also sung lots of popular Punjabi songs. He also sung several songs for Bollywood like Chupke Chupke in Nikaah. Some of his popular ghazals are Hungama hai kyu barpa, ye dil ye pagal dil mera etc.

Ghulam Ali is known around the world for his mastery on the use of differrent raags to his music. His unique style of singing is able to win the heart and mind of music lovers.
